KAGT: founded in 2010; 15 years of liberating souls and changing lives
Overcome | Learn | Grow | Change
Kingdom Assembly of Grace and Truth was originally envisioned as “Mantle of Truth Ministries” in the consciousness of Julius Ford. Reminiscent of the encounter shared between Elijah and his student Elisha, God revealed a spiritual mantle making its descent from the heavens into the Earth. This mantle represented the truth, which is scripture (God’s Word) and Jesus (the Word made flesh). The mantle is a symbol of protection, preparation and power for believers—as it was for Elisha in Second Kings.
On Sunday, June 20, 2010, as Kent M. Williams, Jr. attended his last worship service at Kingdom Gateway Empowerment Ministries (KGEM), Dr. Doral R. Pulley laid hands on him to pronounce safe travels and a prosperous future in Atlanta. At that time, the spirit of God overwhelmed Dr. Pulley and shared the words, “You are not leaving your friend but going as a type of John the Baptist to prepare the way for him to establish ministry in Atlanta, Georgia.”
In August of that same year, Julius Ford accompanied Dr. Pulley to an Alpha Nu Omega annual conference hosted in Atlanta, Georgia. During this meeting Kent, Julius and Dr. Pulley met at the Southern Kitchen restaurant to discuss the name of the ministry and to review the God-inspired vision/mission that Julius had written for the local assembly. A literal light shined onto the receipt as they read the words aloud, “Kingdom Assembly of Grace and Truth…liberating souls and changing lives.”
Saturday, August 7, 2010, this trio joined with other invited guests to dialogue about establishing a grass roots ministry in this sea of mega churches. Words like, “I believe in him”, “there is a need for this type of ministry”, and “where he leads I will follow” were spoken. This group of seven included Kent Williams, Julius Ford, Bishop Pulley, Marjanet Wilson, Reggie and Jamelia Duncan, and Tony Fulton. It was agreed that in October 2011 Julius would return to Atlanta from Baltimore to cultivate this church plant.
Julius, then Elder-elect, was celebrated and sent out by Bishop Pulley during the Church of the Everlasting Kingdom (COTEK) “11-11-11” service. Ever since this day he has remained steadfast to the charge of sowing seed in fertile ground, watering with the Word of God and witnessing the promised harvest of God-given increase.
The local assembly milestones include Ten in Attendance (December 21), Watch Night Service at Winter’s Chapel—thanks to Cameron Moore (December 31), Ash Wednesday and First Communion Service the Atlanta’s Historic Butler Street YMCA (February 22), Easter Service in Centennial Park – Holiday Inn (April 8), Committed Ten Church Declaration at the Country Inn & Suites – Turner Field (July 8), Miracle Building Lease (August 1).
Having survived the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic of 2020, KAGT purchased its first building in February of 2025 in the historic Lakewood community of Atlanta, GA. Today, the vision of "Liberating souls and changing lives" remains paramount the the ministry's purpose and presence.
